Prospective StudentsWe thank you for your interest in our school and in our academic programmes! On the following pages you will find useful information on how to contact us for questions on the application process and on requirements for admission.
All interested candidates are welcome to visit the campus and the school throughout the year by appointment. During their visits of the School, prospective students have the possibility to sit in on lectures and classes that are of interest to them. Interested candidates can consult the current course schedule to find out which courses are being offered the day of their visit (see under Current Students http://genevadiplomacy.com/current-students/schedules/). Ideally, we recommend a meeting with one of our staff members or student assistants who will explain our programmes more in detail and who will be able to answer your questions. Such a personal meeting can also be used as opportunity to hold an informal Admissions Interview which may later, upon submission of your complete application form, form part of your documents. In order to arrange a visit, please contact the school well in advance either via phone (+41) 022 300 33 77 or via e-mail to info@genevadiplomacy.com. We will be happy to reply to your request and arrange quality time with you. Once on campus, the candidates should please refer to one of our offices (de Sales or Château) where they will be directed to their desired classroom. It is necessary to arrive before the start of the class as to not disturb the ongoing lecture.
Studying in Switzerland – some of the best year(s) in your life! To study in Switzerland is to study in possibly the world’s most beautiful country. Mountains, lakes, pastures, clean and beautiful towns – Switzerland is famous for its extraordinarily beautiful scenery. Close by there are France, Germany, Austria, Italy. Less than six hours of driving, or less than a one-hour flight, takes you to the South of France, Paris, Munich in southern Germany, or Northern Italy. Geneva, in other words, is perfectly located in the heart of Europe. And, if you dislike both driving and flying, you can take a high-speed train to Paris, Nice, Milan, or almost anywhere else in Europe. Switzerland too, is not only beautiful but safe. Families can be confident in this regard if their children or other family members are studying abroad in Geneva. And not only are crime levels low but in Switzerland – a small country – it’s also easy to get around. Moreover, Swiss services are clean, efficient and reliable. Want to ski (in sunshine!) in some of the world’s most famous ski resorts (less than two hours drive from GSD)? Want to sail, bathe, or water-ski on beautiful Lake Geneva (right in front of the school!)? Or take a leisurely cruise-boat ride across the lake to have lunch in neighbouring France – and be back in time to catch up on your GSD assignments? Or, do you prefer tennis, golf, horse-riding, flying, or hang-gliding? Or go hiking in the peaceful summer Alps? Switzerland is just the place for you! For the GSD student, all these things are immediately close at hand. Indeed, GSD is surrounded by beautiful scenery and the most charming of historic countryside. By any world standard, the Geneva School of Diplomacy gets an A+ for its delightful setting. A year spent studying at GSD is, in other words, an unforgettable experience. And two years simply doubles the pleasure and the number of friends you will make! The bottom line is that GSD students tend to work hard and play hard. Rigorous and stimulating intellectual challenge is perfectly balanced, students find, by a weekend of skiing or simply sunbathing or walking by the shores of Lake Geneva. While you are doing that, try the local wine. Or, better still, take a book with you! GSD gives you plenty to think about! Even better, the Geneva School of Diplomacy promises you a lot to remember. Unforgettable! Truly! – no one has ever disputed the beauty of this extraordinary country. So enjoy! Possible careers with International Relations degree
