Prof. Zoltan Bécsi
 
 Zoltan Bécsi has been educated at Geneva and Oxford Universities and his last degree is a Ph.D. in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva and the University of Geneva, jointly. After earning a Licence ès Lettres from the University of Geneva and a Master of Studies degree in History at the University of Oxford, he started a career in academic research and teaching, and as a consultant in political and international affairs. He received a Swiss research grant to the Hoover Institution (Stanford University) and became a research assistant at the Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces of Geneva before starting research for a PhD in International Relations at the Graduate Institute of International Studies of Geneva. He has been a Swiss National Fund Research Scholar in Paris (doing research at the French Foreign and Defence Ministries) in London (at the Foreign Office Archives). His field of specialisation is Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, dealing mainly with cultural, minority, nationality, federalism and security issues as well as geopolitical issues. As a consultant, Zoltan Bécsi has brought his advices to institutions and companies, profit and non-profit alike and sits on the boards of academic and research projects. He has been a Visiting Fellow of the Teleki László Institute (today Hungarian Institute for International Affairs of Budapest) and of the Graduate Institute of European Studies of the University of Geneva. Dr Bécsi has published articles in several countries and in three different languages. He regularly gives interviews and publishes articles in the media.
