Prof. Wei-Wei Zhang

Dr Wei-Wei Zhang is concurrently senior research fellow at Centre for Asian Studies, Geneva, and guest professor at Fudan University and Tsinghua University, China. He worked as a senior English interpreter for Deng Xiaoping and other Chinese leaders in the mid-1980s.

A former visiting fellow at Oxford, he holds a Ph.D from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva University. His published books include Ideology and Economic Reform under Deng Xiaoping (Kegan Paul), Transforming China: Economic Reform and its Political Implications (Macmillan), and Reshaping Cross-Strait Relations: Ideas and Reflections (CAS).

He has published extensively in English and Chinese on the China model of development, comparative politics, and China’s foreign and security policies.
