The GSD International Neighbourhood
GSD is at the very heart of international diplomacy: There are more than 23 international governmental organisations in Geneva and some 170 non-governmental with UN consultative status. Two-thirds of all United Nations activities take place in Geneva and more than 180 nationalities are represented.
Some 151 countries maintain embassies here and more than 25′000 people are employed in Geneva by the various international organizations. These institutions hold more than 2000 conferences a year. And about 3000 Heads of State or similar officials visit Geneva every year. There is hardly a better place on the planet – nor a more beautiful location – to study international relations!
